Andrew served in the Civil War in Company B, 2nd Georgia Battalion of Sharpshooters (Infantry). He enlisted on October 15, 1863 in The Confederate States of America Army and surrendered on May 12, 1865 at Smithfield, North Carolina. This was found on his Civil War Pension application dated April 7, 1913

Andrew moved from Upson Co, Georgia to Smith Co, TX in 1880. (Civil War Pension Application dated April 7, 1913.

Andrew died in his home.

When they arrived in Jefferson they bought an ox-cart, put their worldly possessions in it and started out on foot and walked to Rockwall, Tex. , 125 to 150 miles away. They had a little boy about 2 years old and grandmother was pregnant. They walked trails and at night would camp out....
