    Funeral for James T. Simpson, 80, will be at 1; p.m. today at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel in Trentwood. Private burial will precede the service. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Simpson, who was born in Edmond, Okla., died Friday. He moved to Tennessee in 1933 and to Eastern Washington in 1935, graduating from Otis Orchards High School in 1937. Mr. Simpson worked on the family dairy farm in Newman Lake, and from 1943 to 1946 was a member of the Washington National Guard. In 1946 he joined the Washington Air National Guard, serving until 1951. From 1951 to 1952 he served in the Air Force and in the Air Force Reserves from 1952 to 1953. Mr. Simpson continued to work as a dairy farmer in Newman Lake during and after his military service, and was a member of the Tri-Community Grange and the Northwest Dairyman's Association. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary; two sons; a daughter; and five grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Idaho Dialysis Center, 2100 Ironwood Court, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814.

    Visitation for Conway McDonald, 79, will be from noon to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope (Wash.) Cemetery Mr. McDonald, who was born in the farming community of Mt. Hope, died Wednesday. He graduated from Otis Orchards High School in 1937. In 1965 he was named Latah-Rock Creek Conservation Farmer of the Year. He also received an honorary life membership from the Spokane County Crop Improvement Association in 1988. Mr. McDonald retired from farming after several years of working on the family farm in Rockford. He was currently living at the Waterford in Spokane. Mr. McDonald was a member of Rockford United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Genevieve; a son; a daughter; two brothers; four grandchildren and a great-grandson.
